The philosophy of the American Youth Soccer Organization, Matrix (formally known as Magic) is to educate and develop young people by encouraging their interest and participation in soccer through the following concepts:
Everyone Plays: Our goal is for kids to play soccer, so we mandate that every player must play 1/2 of each game.
Balanced Teams: At the start of each season teams are as evenly balanced as possible in terms of age, experience and talent. The game is more fun when teams of equal ability play.
Positive Coaching: Positive coaching is the glue that holds together the AYSO philosophy and gives it meaning for AYSO players. Positive coaching means instruction without condemning, praising the individual but correcting the group, displaying good sportsmanship and in general, setting a good example for AYSO players.
Open Registration: AYSO is open to all children between the ages of 4 1/2 and 18 who want to play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria.
Good Sportsmanship: It is our goal to instill in all players the ability to be a good sport toward the opposing players, coaches and game officials, regardless of the outcome of the game.
Within these parameters Matrix (formally known as Magic) will operate a quality soccer program where young people will develop a good self image and enhance their self esteem through participation in a safe, healthy, fun and positive environment.
